Elizabethan inspired Tutu:
Process;
Completed Costume;
This Costume was inspired by the Elizabethan Era and created for the character Titiana, from A Mid Summer Nights Dream. I modernised it to be appropraite for a modern day ballet. The Tutu skirt is pleated and embroaded around the edge, to be correspondant with the Ruffs worn around the neck, during Elizabethan times. The corset shape also ties in with the Elizabethan period, whilst the pattern, of leaves and floweris based on the character Titiana. This is as she is the Queen of the fairies and has a relation to the forrest.
Keeping with the style of the 18th Century I created the corset using the colours of the french flag, representing Marie Antionette's reign as the Queen on France.
